Employment
General Requirements:
- Minimum age of 21.
- High school graduate or
equivalent.
- Posses a valid driver's license.
- Qualify to work in the United
States.
- Complete an application of
employment.
- Pass a background investigation,
which may include school records check, driving records check, inquiry
as to character and reputation and a criminal history check.
Provided
above initial requirements are met, you will be required to
- Pass a written examination.
- In person interview before the
appointment board.
Applications:

Must be filled out in
person at the Administrative Building.

Will be accepted between
9 am & 3 pm, Monday thru Friday. (except state holidays)

A valid driver's license must be
presented.

Completion time of applications
is approx. 45 minutes.
Applications are always accepted,
whether or not there are open positions.
Correctional Officer:
Starting salary: $28,385.60
Additional Requirements:

Must be able to work swing shifts.

Pass a physical examination.
-
Pass state mandated Basic Correctional Officer School.

Greet and communicate with public.
-
Care and security of inmates after incarceration.
-
Other duties assigned by the Sheriff.
Court
Security Officer:
Starting salary: $28,385.60
Additional Requirements:

Must be able to work swing shifts.
-
Pass a physical examination.
-
Pass state mandated Basic Law Enforcement.
-
Pass state mandated Basic Court
Security schools.
-
Serve warrants, civil papers and make levies.
-
Work metal detectors and provide security in courtroom.
-
Apprehend violators.
-
Conduct preliminary investigations.
-
Other duties assigned by the Sheriff.
